Oh thats awesome. That ties in nicely. This weekend we are going to promote going to Children's Hunger Fund on Dec 2 to do toy wrapping. I just wanted to make you all aware that way you can incorporate this as a way to apply what we are teaching them. Since everyone is created equal, then we can show that we beleive that and that we want to serve God by serving other children all around the world! There will be more info out this weekend and we would love for you guys to come with your whole families!

Great thoughts Jorvic. Our ethics should be based on bearing the Image of God (Gen. 1:26-28, 9:6; Jam.3:9)great point. This way our ethic is universal and unchanging. Another point is that our Image bearing is more of an 'office' we hold before God or a 'staus.'

This is why I say that, if we say 'we are made in the image of God which means that as humans we are not like animals in that we love, we can worship, we can reason etc, etc' then what about the mentally handicapped or the unborn fetus or the person that isn't as logical in his thinking as the next? Does that mean that he/she has 'less' of God's image? Of course not!

What differs is one's ability to act/live according to our position or office before God and that differentation is due to sin. Essentially being made in God's image means that we are all mirrors (2 Cor.3:18)and because of sin, some mirrors (humans)are cracked, fogged or whatever and therefore have more trouble than others at fulfilling their role and status as God's reflected Image. What instills value in every human, born or unborn, is the fact that we are all mirrors of God's glory and how that plays out in life is a topic for another day, and another time :)
